Roy Greenway Jr was born in 1977 in Midland, TX. He moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma when he was very young and grew up there attending all of his grade school through high school. He graduated from Bartlesville High School in 1996 and went to college at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. Dr. Greenway went to Harding knowing that he wanted to be a physician and enrolled in their pre-med program. In 2000, he graduated from there with a bachelor’s degree of science in biochemistry. He then returned to Oklahoma and started medical school immediately at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City in August of 2000. After successful graduation in 2004, Dr. Greenway began his surgical training as an intern and then resident in General Surgery with the Department of Surgery for the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and he graduated from that training program in June 2009. After residency, he worked in Oklahoma City at several hospitals including Integris Southwest Medical Center, Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma Center for Orthopedic and Multi-Speciality Surgery, Community Hospital, El Reno Hospital, and others. In 2016, Dr. Greenway was recruited to Elk City, OK where he continued to be a busy surgeon in that community for 7 years. However, he found that he missed the type of surgical practice that the metropolitan area offered, so he decided to move his practice back to Oklahoma City with the intention to focus on bariatric surgery and complex general surgery. He now practices in the Oklahoma City and Dallas metropolitan areas. When he is not working, Dr. Greenway enjoys getting outside and spending time with his wife and children. He plays the cello and bass guitar. He loves to hunt and fish. He likes to get his hands dirty working on his vehicles and has aspirations of rebuilding an old Chevy pickup truck. He particularly loves to snowboard.
